Since joining Massive Music Entertainment in 2022, songwriter duo dbatlayar have been on a four-year journey with Massive Music. During this time, they have registered more than six of their works with Massive Music.
For Joy & Dave, the experience has been about more than simply having their works registered or managed. They see Massive Music as a space that supports their growth as songwriters.
“Massive Music has become a space for us as songwriters,” dbatlayar shared.
One of the experiences they remember is taking part in Songwriting Thursday, a gathering that brings songwriters together. For them, the program has created an opportunity to meet other songwriters, build new connections, and gain new knowledge.
“Songwriting Thursday has been a really good space to bring songwriters together. It helps us build relationships and gain more knowledge.”
Through experiences like this, their relationship with Massive Music has grown beyond that of a songwriter and publisher. They see Massive Music as a working partner that also supports their development as songwriters.
“We feel that Massive Music is not only our publisher, but also our working partner and someone who helps us grow as songwriters.”

“We realized that being a songwriter is a profession that is protected, and there is someone looking after those rights through Massive Music.”
For dbatlayar, knowing that their rights are being looked after has reinforced the feeling that songwriting is a profession with value and an important place within the music industry.
“As songwriters, we feel that our profession is appreciated and valued.”
After four years, what makes dbatlayar continue to trust Massive Music?
One reason is the catalogue and the many musicians connected to it. They see works by songwriters they personally appreciate within the Massive Music catalogue, while also seeing how the company is trusted by many musicians.
“There are many songs in the Massive Music catalogue written by songwriters whose work we also like. Massive Music is trusted by many musicians, so its credibility is definitely very good.”
But for dbatlayar, trust is not built on reputation alone.
Over the past four years, they have also appreciated the clarity of the reports they receive from Massive Music. The reports help them understand what they have earned and where the income comes from.
“During these four years, the reports from Massive Music have also been clear. We can see how much we received and where it came from.”
