For ads that require a song, you’ll need copyright permission, specifically a synchronization license. This license allows you to use the lyrics, notation, and music to sync with the visuals of the ad. You can obtain it from a music publisher.
If the ad also requires the master recording from a record label, you’ll need a master synchronization license from the label that owns the master recording.
